Since 2010, Dr. Lewis has been actively involved in NSBE. NSBE’s mission is “To increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community”. Since the beginning, she has taken on leadership roles at local, regional, and national levels. These roles include:
- National Parliamentarian (2019-21)
- National Vice Chair (2017-18)
- National Secretary (2016-17)
- National Public Relations Chair (2015-16)
- Technical Research Exhibition (TRE) Coordinator (2014-15)
- Region II Vice Chair (2013-14)
- Region II O Zone Coordinator (2012-13)
- Chapter President (2011-12) of NSBE @ VCU
- Co-Founder of the T.R.I.U.M.P.H. Scholarship
- Chapter Public Relations Chair (2010-11) of NSBE @ VCU
She currently serves as the chapter advisor for the University of Georgia chapter.
